ACTIVITIES

A company that both produces and distributes feature-length motion pictures, A-Z Films also distributes DVD’s and broadcasts its features on Canadian television. A-Z Films purchases the rights to distribute Quebec, Canadian, and foreign films from countries such as France, the United Kingdom, India, Italy, Lebanon, Egypt, Denmark, and the USA. A-Z Films is Outsider Pictures catalogue distributor for Quebec.

ANTOINE ZEIND

Antoine Zeind, president of A-Z Films, has worked in all facets of the motion picture industry. From the production and distribution of films to working on the exhibitor side of the industry as a booker, Mr. Zeind has more than 10 years of experience in the business. In 2008, A-Z Films is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

Along with an MBA from University of Quebec in Montreal, Antoine Zeind also holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in cinema from University of Montreal. In his career, he has held key posts with well-known organisations in the industry.

From 1999 to 2001, he was the general manager of the International Comedy Film Festival, the “Grande Fête du Cinema Comique”. He also collaborated on screenings of the Montreal World Film Festival. As an exhibitor, he helped plan and coordinate the opening of the 18-plex Colossus in Laval that opened under the Famous Players banner in November of 2000. Mr. Zeind also supervised operations of the IMAX theatre inside Montreal’s downtown Famous Players Paramount complex as its director of operations. With Christal Films, he held the post of director of booking and marketing.

Antoine Zeind was directly involved as a producer of the short film entitled “Une blonde pour Anatole” (1999), A-Z Films Productions. The short, directed by Isabelle Raynauld and starring Andrée Lachapelle, was broadcast on Radio-Canada – the French-Canadian counterpart of the CBC.
